Inspiring from sport store design in Kuala Lumper

Located in Kuala Lumper is the FHL Sport store which is specializing in biking equipment such as sport shoes, triathlon bicycles and all the additional paraphernalia required.
The store was designed by a Japanese architectural and they had succeeded when transformed the space of a loft styled in the typical New York fashion into a minimalist and contemporary sports store.
The designers used a vector brick pattern on the walls, cabinet design and nylon netting and rather than using handrails they opted for meshes.

With a diversity of colors that give the interior its own dynamic and with an ambiance that is reminiscent of the New York City Bronx area, the core of the store is a mezzanine floor that has a five meter ceiling adding ample space for the merchandise on the horizontal as well as vertically.

Comete jewelry store design in Milan, Italy by Studio Apostoli

Located in Milan, Italy the Comete Jewelry store is te wonderful design of Studio Apostoli- a studio famous for store design. Comete Jewelry is also the famous store which represented for the brand Comete. This store is inspired from the motto of the company “Romanticamente schierati” (lined up in a romantic way) when they chose a combination of styles to encapsulate both feelings and emotions and reasons and rationality into one big design. The design does have an impact if you take into consideration the sale point area that is illuminated by led circular display windows that have three different dimensions. The mixture of feelings versus reason can be perceived when the light of the backdrop changes, offering a visual contrast with the overall design.

The colour of the lights also differs from season to season or if there is any special occasion for example a holiday or a thematic day-the lights are changed fitting the situation. We really enjoyed the idea the designers had when creating the Comete store. What do you think of it?

Visiting the original L’Atelier Cafe in Cluj, Romania

Located in Cluj-Napoca, commonly known as Cluj, the second most populous city in Romania, this original coffee shop entitled L’Atelier Cafe attracts more and more visitors every day thanks to its unique and interesting interior design. Here is the description from the project developers: “The idea of planning was initiated by a simple thing – that need for a space meant to influence the mood at a subtle level of perception, that kind of perception which only culture might develop.

Therefore this was a call for a room where to foremost promote and maintain culture. This idea was the result of two concepts converging two teams, namely Marius Bocan, Vlad Paul, George Mosoia- on one side, and Dan Paul, Bogdan Goția and Tiberiu Bucur- on the other.

The second team was built up by three architecture students, their main focus being the conception of space language following the development of a clearer link between space and personality. This concept suited the idea of the first team to settle a cultural cafe for Cluj’s urban area.

Cardboard-coffee-culture were eventually the elements which described the place located in Cluj somewhere on Memorandumului Street. After several months of work, the 13th of May, 2010 was the official opening day.

Working also with volunteers was both useful for the effective effort tension and for the atmosphere they created around, for the atelier-air they brought inside and the good disposition. Although this is a place where furniture is 'different' we are actually celebrating every day the little things that bring us closer.

Besides the cafe we developed a cultural plan including: workshops, portraits and caricatures, photo exhibitions, concerts, theater plays which are part of that link between space and personality, fed with cardboard inspiration and good coffee”.

Exterior and interior design of Coach flagship store in Tokyo

Recently, the luxury handbag brand of Coach has opened a new flagship store on the prominent retail corridor Omotesando in Tokyo, Japan.
The new space was brilliantly designed by the architect Shohei Shigematsu and the architectural practice OMA with a façade that features 210 stacked translucent display boxes that are placed in a herringbone pattern and which host the brand’s products in this original way. Another interesting element is the floating tower with 105 illuminated acrylic units encasing the central stair that leads to the upper level. These two elements have two important purposes, firstly surrounding the visitors with the Coach products and also freeing floor space.
From the exterior the storefront with a double height allows the entire Coach collection to be encompassed with a single view and each product gets its own framing. From the inside the translucent walls of act as a filter from the exterior and place the Coach products through each side surrounding the clients with them.
The circulation tower also provides illumination and permits the façade to attract attention even during the nighttime. The visually impressive way that the products are placed manages to envision perfectly the Coach ideal of “logic and magic”.
